It is the largest EPC project in the history of CAC.
CAC designed and built for Grace a turnkey silicic acid production plant at the Worms site.
June 23, 2020 saw the official announcement of Grace GmbH’s opening of its new 8,200 m2 ultra-modern plant for the production of silicic acid. CAC had assumed overall responsibility for all phases from design to turnkey handover of the large-scale project. After a period of only 22 months for detail engineering and construction, the new facility at one of Grace's largest production sites in Worms, Rhineland-Palatinate was successfully completed. For Grace, this plant doubles the production capacity for LUDOX® colloidal silicic acid, which is used in industrial applications such as catalysts, functional coatings and precision investment casting.
“We are very appreciative of the trust that Grace has placed in us to realise its major European project, an investment in the double-digit millions,” states Mike Niederstadt, Managing Director of CAC. “Since the study in 2016 we have worked in a team with Grace to implement this complex project, which allows us to further strengthen our portfolio as an EPC partner in plant construction.”
